Bonnie Jean Walters, age 71, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the daughter of Alfred “Bud” and Lenora (Molendorp) Buss on June 3, 1940, at home in Parkersburg. On June 27, 1958, Bonnie was united in marriage with Lee Walters at Bethel Lutheran Church. They lived their entire life in Parkersburg. She worked at the former O’s Gold Seed Company and later ASGROW in Aplington for 30 plus years. Bonnie was an active and faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She had a very strong faith, had taught Sunday School and Bible School and was a member of the Women’s Quilting Groups.

Through the years she loved to go bowling with her family and friends and was a member of various bowling leagues. Her and Lee traveled all across the US attending National Tournaments. She loved playing all sorts of board games, cards, bingo and of course a little gambling on the side. She always looked forward to the family gatherings at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed the many Canada fishing trips that her and Lee shared; but was always anxious to get back to her family. She loved working in her flower garden and her favorite time of year was Christmas. Her pride and joy was her family, all of the get-togethers they shared. If you ever had the opportunity to visit Bonnie’s home; you know first hand you never left hungry. She made sure everyone had plenty to eat. Up the day she left us; Sunday dinners were mandatory. She loved watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports and attended various other activities.
